HVUSBC Scholarship Information
Hudson Valley USBC has two scholarships available to graduating high school seniors for a minimum amount of $750 each. These scholarships are being offered to both female and/or male USBC certified bowlers and offer an opportunity for those who show extraordinary aptitude in both schoolwork and bowling to be rewarded for their efforts. All information must be postmarked by April 1st. .

On July 17, 2011 Kevin Winant was awarded our Anna Fries Memorial Scholarship. Kevin has been bowling for 9 years in the Saturday Youth League at Fishkill Bowl. He has been an All Section selection the past 2 years and was the captain of the John Jay High School Boy’s team this past season. His individual achievements include a 300 game, a 299 game, and a high series of 756. In addition to bowling, Kevin is a member of National Honor Society and Italian Honor Society. He is an Eagle Scout who also assists the elderly at Wingate and carried the flag during the Walkway over the Hudson opening.
Stephen Rogers is this year’s recipient of the Matt Giancotti Memorial Scholarship. He has been bowling in Youth Leagues for 15 years, and on the FD Roosevelt High School Team for 6. In 2008 he was the NEJST MVP. Stephen is a JBT champion and a Poughkeepsie Journal All Star. His community service includes the SPCA, Soup Kitchen, Lunchbox, and John Flowers and his Elves. At Arlington High School he wrote for the “New Deal” school paper and also was a member of the National Honor Society.
Erin Correa, from Beacon High School, was the winner of this year’s
Bluebird 500 Club Scholarship. A 6 year veteran, Erin was an All Section and All League member the past 2 years. She was also the recipient of the Sportsmanship Award and claimed the 3rd Highest Average this year. She is a member of National Honor Society and SADD. Erin volunteers her time teaching children ages 5-13 softball and bowling.
